Job Summary/Basic Functions

Performs Professional accounting work of a complex nature. Thoroughly understands institutional, state, and federal policies, procedures, and restrictions. Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in executing, analyzing, verifying, and reporting transactions of a fiscal nature. Advises management regarding the effective use of resources and methods to minimize earnings. Monitors records of past and present operations. May serve as a project leader on special projects

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

Experience: Five years of previous experience dealing with accounting and budget management is required. Supervision experience preferred.

Licensure & Certifications: CPA or other accounting certification preferred.

  • 35% - Prepares regularly scheduled and special reports. - (Essential)

  • 15% - Ensures that grants and Sponsored Program invoices are submitted to the funding source in a timely manner - (Essential)
  • 10% - Supervises Sponsored Programs Accountants(2) - (Essential)
  • 15% - Advises and interprets policies to faculty, staff, and outside persons - (Essential)
  • 10% - Participates in development and/or implementation of accounting policies related to Sponsored Programs - (Essential)
  • 5% - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. - (Essential)
