Job Summary/Basic Functions

The work-study assistant for Appalachian Studies and Women & Gender Studies provides administrative support to the director. This position requires the ability to work in a creative environment with both independent and team-based projects, such as facilitating events and programs; assisting with management of student organizations; designing promotional materials; maintaining social media; and communicating with APP/WGS students, faculty, and staff. Work hours will occur in the afternoons and occasionally in the evening.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at EKU

Preferred Qualifications:

• WGS or APP minor/certificate
• Communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Poster design
• Reliability
• Federal work study eligibility

Job Duties:

• 50% - Administrative support for director - (Essential)
• 30% - Management of student organizations - (Essential)
• 30% - Facilitation of on-campus events - (Essential)

Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
