Job Summary/Basic Functions
The School of Music in the Institute for Creative and Collaborative Arts at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor for the Academic Year 2024-2025. Applicants should hold an earned Doctorate in Music or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. ABD candidates may be considered but must have a Doctorate (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2024.
The position serves the Music programs. It requires experience in teaching French Horn.
The successful candidate will teach applied horn lessons, direct the Horn Ensemble, hold a weekly studio class, and teach horn in the Brass Techniques class. ICCA and School of Music seek candidates who will participate in a collaborative community that fosters independent thought and creativity, embraces diversity of cultural expression, and cultivates excellence in the making and understanding of the Arts.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in a 4/4 annual teaching load, develop and maintain an active scholarly agenda, conduct academic advising, and participate in service to the department, university, and community. In addition, membership and participation in state, regional, national, or international organizations is recommended.
Minimum Qualifications
