Job Summary/Basic Functions

Peer-to-peer support through a tailored academic coaching approach that builds on tutoring and mentoring in a relationship rich environment for academic engagement and success. Student-workers will help organize study sessions, maintain the space, tutor based on their majors and skills, and mentor students with time-management, study habits, and social practices for engagement. Positions might also include tutoring language students and students that might not be in your college. This is a Student Employee position for 3-20 hours per week and may start at $12.00 per hour. This position will require you to work with students reviewing target language, academic subjects, and specific course assignments. May also include support time assisting faculty and staff with recruitment, retention, and community outreach. Computer knowledge is helpful as well as familiarity with office equipment.

Special Instructions: Appropriate proficiency in oral and written English, target subjects, and language(s) required. Students must be enrolled in upper-division language studies classes or appropriate equivalency for other subjects. A successful candidate will maintains a cumulative GPA above 3.0, is able to work productively in teams, have the skills to interact effectively with others, and is proactive and self-motivated.
