Job Summary/Basic Functions
Campus Recreation is accepting applications for the Colonels Camp Counselor position. Colonels Camp is Campus Recreation’s weeklong summer camp session for children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. In addition to experiencing the Student Recreation Center and the EKU Campus, children will participate in a variety of activities including sports, games, rock climbing, crafts, swimming, educational programs, field trips and more. As a Colonels Camp Counselor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the weekly planning and preparation of Colonels Camp
- Provide safety and supervision of the children
- Facilitate and lead a variety of activities
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff
- Have fun
Shifts are typically 5 hours in length throughout each week of Colonels Camp.
Colonels Camp Weeks:
June 1st - 5th
June 8th - 12th
June 15th - 19th
June 22nd - 26th
July 6th - 10th
July 13th - 17th
July 27th - 31st
Minimum Qualifications
Licensure & Certifications: Applicants need to be a full-time student at EKU or in your graduating semester.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with children and/or in a camp setting is preferred. Student majoring in Education, Recreation & Park Administration and other related programs are encouraged to apply.
