Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Foundation Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the compliant, efficient, and systematic awarding of endowment and donor-funded operational and scholarship funds. This role is focused on managing Memoranda of Agreements (MOA) for endowed and donor awards, ensuring the criteria are measurable, can be automated in financial systems, and are adhered to for awarding.

The analyst will collaborate with Academic Affairs, Finance, Student Success, the Development Office, and University Counsel to ensure that funds are distributed in accordance with donor intent, legal requirements, and institutional policies.

Strong technical and analytical skills are critical to automate the awarding processes while maintaining compliance with complex donor agreements.

This is a Richmond, on-campus position. Sponsorship is not available.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree required

Experience: One - two years experience preferred

Must demonstrate excellent skills in communication and collaboration.

Job Duties:

  • 45% - Endowment and Donor MOA Management: Track, review, and maintain MOAs for endowments and donor-funded scholarships and funds, ensuring that the criteria are trackable, tangible, measurable, and systematically actionable. Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Finance, University Counsel and the Development Office to interpret and refine complex donor criteria, ensuring they can be integrated into the scholarship and fund management systems for awarding. Work closely with the Development Office and University Counsel to revise MOA language as necessary to meet donor intent while adhering to institutional and financial policies. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Fund Awarding, Systems Integration, and Compliance: Work with Financial Aid, IT, and Finance to integrate endowment and donor scholarship and fund criteria into financial systems, ensuring the process is automated where possible and aligned with donor agreements. Ensure that all scholarships are awarded in strict compliance with MOA terms, donor intent, and financial aid regulations, minimizing manual processing where possible. Collaborate with Academic Affairs to ensure scholarship awarding aligns with academic program needs, student eligibility, and institutional priorities. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Collaboration, Reporting, and Systems Oversight: Act as a liaison between Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, Finance, Student Success, Development, and University Counsel to ensure seamless communication and compliance in the awarding of foundation funds. Maintain accurate records of fund distribution, system functionality, and compliance with donor criteria, providing reports for audits and reviews. Regularly communicate updates to stakeholders regarding the awarding process, system performance, and compliance status. - (Essential)
