Job Summary/Basic Functions

Being a country club cook involves working in the kitchen of a private country club, where members gather for leisure activities, social events, and sports. As a country club cook, your primary responsibility is to prepare and cook meals for club members, catering to their preferences and dietary requirements. Here are some key aspects of the job:

Menu Planning: Collaborating with the executive chef or management team to create diverse and appealing menus for various events, including luncheons, dinners, and special occasions.

Food Preparation: Ensuring that all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and of high quality. You'll be responsible for cutting, chopping, marinating, and preparing various dishes.

Cooking Techniques: Utilizing a range of cooking techniques to prepare dishes, including grilling, sautéing, frying, and more.

Dietary Accommodations: Being mindful of dietary restrictions and allergies of the club members, and adjusting recipes accordingly to accommodate their needs.

Food Presentation: Paying attention to the aesthetic appeal of the dishes, as presentation is vital in a country club setting.

Timing and Efficiency: Coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient preparation of meals, especially during busy events or peak hours.

Hygiene and Safety: Adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Teamwork: Collaborating with other kitchen staff, servers, and management to provide a seamless dining experience for the club members.

Flexibility: Being able to adapt to changing demands and adjusting the menu or preparing meals for unexpected events or last-minute requests.

Culinary Creativity: Bringing creativity to the kitchen by experimenting with new dishes, flavors, and presentation styles to enhance the dining experience for the club members.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School degree/GED

Experience: One year of culinary experience preferred, preferably in the golf industry

Licensure & Certifications: Food Handlers Safety Card
