Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Director for Student Life & First-Year Experience (SL & FYE) provides leadership, management, and assessment for programming and services in the areas of Student Activities, Colonel's Cupboard & Closet, First-Year Experience (FYE), and Parent & Family Programs. The Director oversees the day-to-day operations of the Student Life & First-Year Experience office and the Colonels Cupboard and Closet. The Director works in collaboration with university administrators, faculty, staff, and students to develop, implement, and assess SL & FYE initiatives. The incumbent should be highly collaborative with a record of programming development and implementation, relationship building, resource management, and personnel management. Position will require occasional night and weekend work.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master’s Degree is required.

Experience: Three years’ related work experience is required.

Job Duties:

  • 60% - Provide leadership, management, development, implementation, and assessment for programming and services in the areas of Student Activities, Colonel's Cupboard & Closet, First-Year Experience (FYE), and Parent & Family Programs. This includes supporting the Campus Activities Board. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Student Life & First-Year Experience office and the Colonel's Cupboard and Closet. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Collaborate with campus and community partners on engagement initiatives and serve as a planning and activity implementation resource. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Supports the division, department, and office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - (Essential)
