Additional Schedule Details: Must have availability for at least two of the lab meeting days:
EMC 110L: TR 9:30-10:45am
EMC 110L: TR 2:00-3:15pm
EMC 352: M 3:35-6:35pm

Job Summary/Basic Functions

This is a student worker position intended to supplement the on-campus EMT and Paramedic skills laboratory classes. Students must have the aptitude for teaching and explaining skills to initial certification students at the EMT-Basic and/or paramedic level. Preference will be given to students who are licensed paramedics capable of assisting both levels of lab classes. This is intended for full-time students who qualify for institutional work study.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must submit proof of NREMT EMT certification/NREMT paramedic certification.
• Must submit proof of a state EMT certification/paramedic license.
• Must have desire to teach/mentor students in clinical settings; preference given to those with FTO experience, precepting experience, and/or instructor/tutoring experience.
• Must submit proof of current class schedule to prove eligibility to work during lab times.
• Must be enrolled at EKU

Job Duties:

• 50% - Assist current EMC 110L and EMC 352 instructors in maintaining an appropriate instructor to student ratio. - (Essential)
• 25% - Assist in maintenance and organization of EMT Basic and Paramedic skills labs in various tasks as directed by faculty/Lab Coordinator. - (Essential)
• 25% - Offer available times to work with EMT/Paramedic students for tutoring and mentorship. - (Essential)
