Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Certified Flight Instructor promotes all facets of flight training in support of EKU Center for Aviation including ground instruction, flight training and simulator training in accordance with the University and FAA regulations, requirements and procedures. Maintain utmost safety protocols, a positive attitude, encourage new flight students while maintaining accurate records and ensure course standards, training requirements and objectives are met by each student in a timely manner within the Private rating.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School diploma is required.

Experience: FAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) license is required.
200+ hours of flight time is required.
FAA Certified Advanced Ground Instructors (AGI) or Instrument Ground Instructors (IGI).

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
FAA Certified Flight Instructor – Instrument (CFII) license is preferred
FAA Multi-engine Instructor (MEI) license is preferred
