Job Summary/Basic Functions
The EKU School of Art and Design is seeking a dependable and organized student worker to assist with the day-to-day needs of the Graphic Design program. The student worker will help maintain Graphic Design classrooms and labs, organize supplies and materials, assist with basic printing and production tasks, and provide general support to Graphic Design faculty.
Primary Responsibilities
• Organize and maintain Graphic Design classrooms, labs, supply areas, cabinets, and shared workspaces.
• Put away, organize, and restock incoming supplies and materials.
• Monitor commonly used supplies and notify faculty when materials are running low.
• Pick up and deliver supplies, packages, print materials, documents, and other items from campus offices as needed.
• Assist with basic printing when faculty are unavailable.
• Complete basic trimming, mounting, assembly, and other production tasks as assigned.
• Help prepare classrooms and workspaces for projects, critiques, workshops, recruitment activities, and special events.
• Assist with hanging, removing, and organizing student work, bulletin boards, displays, and signage.
• Help organize paper, mounting materials, cutting supplies, samples, archived student work, promotional materials, and program resources.
• Assist with basic Graphic Design Lab organization and equipment upkeep.
• Help clean, organize, and reset shared spaces after projects and events.
• Assist Graphic Design faculty with other program-support tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: • Current EKU student in good academic standing.
• Graphic Design or Art and Design coursework is preferred but not required.
• Completion of DES 250: Introduction to Graphic Design or other Graphic Design coursework is a plus, but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Dependable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable completing a variety of organizational, production, and general support tasks.
• Able to communicate professionally with faculty, students, and campus offices.
• Attention to detail and willingness to maintain clean and organized shared workspaces.
