Title: Group Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer

Job Summary/Basic Functions

A group fitness instructor will lead weekly group fitness classes in 2-3 various formats. They may also participate in campus recreation special events, sub for other instructors as needed, or lead private classes off-site as requested. An instructor should have training of some sort, whether that is: a specialty or general group fitness certification, a workshop hosted at EKU, prior experience instructing group fitness classes, or studio training (such as for dance or boxing). Preferred for instructor to lead minimum 2 classes per week.

Personal Training:
A personal trainer will train clients on a trainer-client agreed schedule, whether individual or partner. They may also participate in campus recreation events, lead clinics and fitness assessments, or lead small groups. A trainer needs either a relevant, NCCA-accredited certification or relevant coursework in an Exercise Sport Science-related major.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at EKU.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience instructing group fitness classes or a certificate showing completion of an instructor training.
• NCCA Accredited Certification OR majoring in/studied Exercise and Sport Science, Kinesiology, or related major.

Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
