Job Summary/Basic Functions

Position will design and implement innovative and research-based instruction for secondary mathematics students in a laboratory school environment. In addition to providing daily instruction, the teacher will also be responsible for general duties of student supervision, as well as mentoring and instruction of university pre-service teachers. The successful candidate will be willing to support extracurricular opportunities for Model school students and other related functions as required. Faculty must also meet physical requirements such as standing, walking and lifting at least 40 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree or above with teacher certification in subject area

Experience:

Licensure & Certifications: Kentucky certification for teaching secondary chemistry

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful experience as a teacher

Job Duties:

  • 80% - Design and implement innovative and research-based instruction for secondary mathematics students in a laboratory school environment - (Essential)
  • 10% - Provide student supervision, as well as mentoring and instruction of university pre-service teachers. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Maintain required trainings, professional development and promotion and tenure responsibilities. - (Essential)
