Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Emergency Medical Care Department at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a part-time clinical position. The part-time faculty position will provide clinical teaching in the Associate of Science in Paramedicine and Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care programs.
Candidates will be hired from this pool as needed.
Applicants should hold a minimum of a Bachelor of Science from a regionally accredited institution and have two years of clinical experience as a paramedic.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.

• Minimum 2 years experience as a paramedic.

• Unencumbered Paramedic license from the state of Kentucky

• Minimum 2 years experience as a paramedic.

• Unencumbered license as a paramedic in the state of Kentucky

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree
• Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in the prehospital acute care setting
• Experience as a paramedic instructor

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Provide clinical instruction and supervision to students enrolled in the Associate and Bachelor of Science in Emergency Medical Care programs, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based patient care practices. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Evaluate student performance during clinical rotations, offering constructive feedback and documentation aligned with program and accreditation standards. - (Essential)
  • 30% - Collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to coordinate learning objectives, maintain high-quality educational experiences, and uphold compliance with institutional and state EMS education requirements - (Essential)
