Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a non-tenure track visiting lecturer position for Academic Year 2026-2027. Applicants should hold, at minimum, a bachelor’s and master's degree in computer/network systems, computer electronics technology, engineering, or in a related field, from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. Doctorate is preferred. This position begins August 2026.
The position serves majors in the Cyber Systems Technology program. IT certifications related to computer networking, cyber security, wireless, cloud technologies, network management, Linux and open-source systems, computer electronics, or other topics are desirable. The successful candidate will teach on-campus, online, and hybrid courses and/or labs related to computer hardware and software administration, wired and wireless networking, security, and information students in a workload consistent with the needs and priorities of the college and institution. The successful candidate will also manage and update laboratory facilities, including network hardware and computer systems; assist in the accreditation of related academic program(s); develop and access curricula, participate in advisory committee discussion for program improvement; maintain membership in related professional organizations; collaborate with program faculty on technical teaching activities; and facilitate student recruitment.

The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of artificial intelligence pertinent to the discipline and/or a willingness to pursue professional development to acquire such expertise.
The CSIT department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems, Cyber Systems Technology, and an Accelerated 3+2 dual degree program in Cyber Systems Technology. It also offers a Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Minors in Computer Electronics Technology, Computer Science, Game Content Design, Cybersecurity and Intelligence, and Informatics.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor’s and a Master's degree in computer/network systems, computer electronics technology, or engineering, or a related field, from an accredited institution (verified by official transcripts) at the time of appointment. Doctorate is preferred.

Licensure & Certifications: Current IT certifications in computer/cloud networking technologies and relevant industry experience in areas such as configuring and managing network infrastructure, PC construction and diagnostics, and microcontroller-based systems. University-level teaching experience in these or related areas is highly desirable.
