Job Summary/Basic Functions

Student Ambassadors in the College of Business (COB) at EKU play an essential role in shaping a welcoming, informative, and impactful experience for both prospective and current students, their families, and campus guests. As representatives of the COB community, ambassadors help communicate key information about our programs, share their personal student experiences, and foster connections that support student success.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications: - Must be enrolled at EKU
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5

Preferred Qualifications:

Ambassadors should demonstrate professionalism, reliability, excellent communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for engaging with others.

Job Duties:

  • 25% - Participate in in-person events for both prospective and current students hosted by the COB. - (Essential)
  • 35% - Assisting with tours of prospective students, families, and/or high school students to show COB Business & Technology Center and spaces where our students excel in their major. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Attend student worker meetings and training as outlined by the COB faculty/staff and/or the Office of Admission. - (Essential)
  • 25% - Other duties as assigned which relate to assisting prospective students, current students, families, guests, inquiries, and applicants. - (Essential)

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Campus Tours: Assist with guided tours for prospective students, families, and visiting school groups, highlighting Business & Tech Center, learning spaces, and student resources.
  • Event Participation: Attend and actively participate in on-campus events for both prospective and current students, including open houses, orientation sessions, and student engagement activities. Some events may take place on Saturdays, which could require an adjustment of work hours during the week to accommodate weekend participation.
  • Student Support & Outreach: Support COB outreach initiatives by - 
    • Organizing and transporting promotional materials Setting up, staffing, and breaking down the COB display table at events
    • Gaining and sharing in-depth knowledge of COB academic programs
    • Following up with prospective and current students to answer questions or provide additional resources
  • Other duties as assigned which relate to assisting prospective students, current students, families, guests, inquiries, and applicants, including:
    • Conducting follow-up inquiries with prospective and current students
    • Writing postcards to students who participated in a campus visit
    • Supporting general recruitment and engagement efforts as needed
