Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Assistant Director assists in the operations of the Office of First-Year Courses and Learning Communities, including curriculum oversight and instructional delivery. The Assistant Director manages and assists with comprehensive programs to meet the needs of first-year students and Student Success Seminar instructors both inside and outside of the classroom. The Assistant Director assists with scheduling, instructor assignment (including hiring and evaluation), curriculum design, assessment, and communication with students, faculty, staff, and University leaders. The Assistant Director represents the Office with University partners and the University with external groups involved in work relating to first-year instruction and learning communities. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree AND 18 completed course hours toward a Master's degree in college student personnel administration, higher education administration, an academic discipline, or related area is required.
Experience: Three years of related work experience is required, including experience with the first year experience or in a college or university setting with a diverse student population.
