Job Summary/Basic Functions

The dance team assistant coach is responsible for the management and administration of the University's dance team within the mission, guidelines, rules, and regulations of Eastern Kentucky University, conference level, the Universal Dance Association (UDA), and the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). The coach is responsible for leading the dancers in conducting appropriate dances at university athletics competitions and related events that promote sportsmanlike fan behavior and a positive university image.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree is required.

Experience: One year of experience is required.

Job Duties:

• 45% - Management of EKU dance team program members to include recruitment, practice planning, community/campus events, travel arrangements, and monitoring a budget. - ()
• 20% - Ensure all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Must fundraise for any operating or scholarship overages - ()
• 20% - Ensure personal behavior and program reputation are in alignment with the institution values and mission. - ()
• 10% - Help connect student-athletes to all of the resources offered by the institution and assist in guiding their educational goals. - ()
• 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - ()
