Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Assistant Director for Facilities & Operations is crucial in overseeing the day-to-day operations of athletic facilities and game-day activities. This position ensures athletic events run smoothly and facilities are well-maintained and prepared. Reporting to the Director of Athletic Operations & Analytics, the Assistant Director collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to support the EKU Athletic Department's mission.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience: One year of experience in an intercollegiate athletics program at the NCAA Division I level is preferred.

Job Duties:

  • 40% - Game Day Operations: - Plan and manage game-day operations for home sporting events, ensuring all logistical needs are met. - Coordinate with coaches, officials, and support staff to ensure smooth event execution. - Serve as the main point of contact for game officials and visiting teams. - Supervise and direct student workers and temporary staff during events - (Essential)
  • 30% - Facility Management: - Oversee the scheduling and reservation of athletic facilities for practices, games, special events, and other activities. - Ensure facilities are prepared and maintained for athletic use, including coordinating maintenance and repairs. - Develop and implement facility policies and procedures to ensure safety and compliance. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Oversee equipment manager: - Supervise and evaluate the Equipment Manager, student assistants, and seasonal staffing. - Oversee procurement, inventory tracking, budgeting, and distribution of athletic apparel, gear, and protective equipment. - Ensure proper storage, security, labeling, and lifecycle tracking of all equipment assets. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Logistics and Coordination: - Coordinate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely delivery of services and equipment. - Manage inventory and procurement of necessary supplies for game-day operations and facility maintenance. - Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support event and facility needs. - (Essential)
  • 5% - Other Duties as Assigned: - Assist with special projects and initiatives as directed by the Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Operations. - Represent the Athletics Department on campus committees and at meetings as needed. - Perform other duties to support the overall mission and goals of the EKU Athletic Department. - (Essential)
