Additional Schedule Details: Responsibilities include:
• Maintain Excel tracking systems for all actively flying students in Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Flight Instructor, and Multiengine courses, including monitoring training deadlines and deadline extension requests.
• Maintain an Excel tracking system for students enrolled in FAR Part 141 ground courses, including endorsing students for FAA written tests and tracking test results.
• Maintain an Excel tracking system for practical tests, scheduling and coordinating practical tests for students and flight instructors with Designated Pilot Examiners (DPEs).
• Provide direct administrative assistance to the Chief and Assistant Chief Flight Instructors, including scheduling and coordinating flight instructor meetings, flight instructor interviews, student Pilot Review Boards (PRBs) and maintaining meeting minutes for PRBs.
• Conduct flight and ground training for students, including progress reviews of flight and knowledge aptitude, and document all training and review activities in accordance with FAA regulations.
• Communicate with flight instructors, flight students, and aviation staff via email, phone, or face-to-face to facilitate timely information exchange and resolve issues.
• Provide assistance, conflict resolution, and recommendations to students, flight instructors, aviation staff, or Chief Flight Instructors as needed.
• Ensure proper documentation, recency of experience requirements, and FAR Part 141 training requirements are up-to-date and satisfactory for flight training staff, including compliance with FAA regulations.
• Monitor assigned duties of flight instructor staff to ensure compliance with program standards, FAA regulations, and EKU Aviation policies.
• Conduct student course of training audits to verify course completion and compliance with FAA regulations.
• Review and approve student flight funds requests to support training activities.

Job Summary/Basic Functions

The EKU Center for Aviation is accepting applications for a Aviation Student Training Manager. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative and professional support for the EKU Center for Aviation, working closely with the Chief and Assistant Chief Flight Instructors. The Aviation Student Training Manager will manage student progress tracking, coordinate training activities, conduct flight and ground training with progress reviews, and ensure FAA compliance through Excel-based systems, audits, and documentation. This role supports the Chief and Assistant Chief Flight Instructors with scheduling, communication, and administrative tasks to maintain an efficient and compliant flight training program.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.

Experience: • Experience in clerical, customer service, or administrative support preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel spreadsheets.
• Familiarity with aviation training programs is preferred.

Licensure & Certifications: • Flight Instructor Certificate - Airplane Single Engine
