Job Summary/Basic Functions

The ceramics studio is looking for a student worker. Responsibilities include general studio maintenance and organization under the supervision of the ceramics Professor, Ian Mabry. Weekly duties vary but include light cleaning, mixing, tool repair, and assistance with classroom demonstration materials. This position is physically demanding and the student workers may need to lift 50lbs dry material bags, mixing clay, spraying/scraping/mopping floors among other physical activities. Completion of ART 290 preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Completion of Art 290 preferred

Licensure & Certifications: Must be enrolled at EKU

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Heavy lifting (50 lb dry material bags)
2. Mixing clay (heavy lifting)
3. Spraying/scraping /mopping cleaning floors
4. Mixing glazes (heavy lifting full 5 gallon buckets)
5. Loading/unloading/firing kilns (bending/stretching)
6. Moving wheels/carts/reclaim buckets (pushing/pulling/lifting)
