Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Artist and Event Services Coordinator, at Eastern Kentucky University, directs the operation of all events across campus, including back-of-house, volunteer and rental operations at Center for the Arts. The Artist and Event Services Coordinator coordinates and oversees artist service details, residency activities and community performances. The incumbent will manage client services, event contract creation and expenses and coordinate activities with others to effectively execute various campus and Center events in compliance with event contracts. The incumbent serves as the on-site manager in charge of back-of-house hospitality operations at all events and represents the University. The Artist and Event Services Coordinator develops and implements event management strategies that encourage repeat customers by creating an excellent overall customer experience. This position will assist with various duties and client services across campus.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree in business management, theater arts, or related field is required.

Experience: One year of directly related experience is required, preferably including experience in event planning, customer service, and/or front of house guest service management.

Licensure & Certifications: A valid driver's license is required.

Job Duties:

  • 30% - Ensure an optimal guest experience by directing back-of-house hospitality operations for all Center events. - ()
  • 30% - Provide high level performer experience by offering exceptional artist hospitality - ()
  • 25% - Coordinate event management activities for all events, ensuring flawless delivery of contracted services and event logistics. - ()
  • 10% - Recruit, train, schedule, and manage the back-of-house workforce for the Center. - ()
  • 5% - Complete special assignments, act as an advocate for the Center, and do whatever is necessary to ensure efficient operation of the Center. - ()
