Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Psychology at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a tenure-track position (open rank) as the Director of Clinical Training (DCT) in the Psy.D. Clinical Psychology Program for Academic Year 2026-2027. Applicants should hold an earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution. The position begins June 2026.

The position oversees the day-to-day operation of Psy.D program, lead clinical training committee, works with external practicum and internship directors, and collaborates with the Program Director on accreditation and budgeting related matters. The position involves providing some clinical supervision and teaching in the program.

The Psy.D. program in Clinical Psychology at EKU is APA-Accredited. It is a 5-year, 120-hour program in general clinical psychology with an emphasis on rural and underserved populations. The program typically accepts 12 students per cohort.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Earned Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an accredited institution.

Experience: • Understanding of APA accreditation policies and procedures
• Knowledge of current practices in professional communication and social media
• Effective interpersonal communication skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Analytic and problems solving skills
• Active and effective listening skills
• Ability to collaborate with peers and students
• Ability to understand and adapt to current trends in professional communication

Licensure & Certifications: Licensure as a psychologist in Kentucky, or License-Eligible.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience leading clinical psychology program
• Experience with program development and administration
• Experience with APA Accreditation (e.g., site visits)
