Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Director has principal responsibility for leading all pre-award management activities and some post-award administrative tasks under the direction of the Associate Dean of Research Administration. Grant and contract development activities support all academic and administrative divisions within the University.

The anticipated hiring range for this position is in the low-to-mid $80,000s, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree

Experience: • Three to Five years of experience in proposal development and grant and contract management
• Experience with leading staff and managing financial resources

Job Duties:

  • 30% - Provides leadership to department staff in developing and coordinating activities in support of the University’s pursuit of externally sponsored project awards - (Essential)
  • 30% - Provides individualized technical assistance to faculty and staff in preparing proposals for external funding and makes compliance decisions, including determination of allowability for proposed expenses - (Essential)
  • 15% - Develops and delivers presentations of professional learning opportunities for the campus community as well as various guides and learning materials - (Essential)
  • 15% - Completes and processes grant and contract award documentation and provides guidance to project directors for managing sponsored project awards - (Essential)
  • 5% - Collaborates with multiple university offices and applies problem solving skills to complex pre- and post-award compliance issues - (Essential)
  • 5% - Leads the management of internal incentive programs, including the indirects distribution process - (Essential)
