Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Eastern Kentucky University Aviation Program is accepting applications for a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Assistant.

The position supports the EKU Aviation Maintenance team that is responsible for maintaining the fleet of aircraft. As a member of the EKU Aviation team, this individual contributor, under supervision, works closely with other staff members and aircraft maintenance contractor representatives to ensure efficient operation of the maintenance program and to ensure and improve the integrity of EKU Aviation Maintenance Program.

Duties and responsibilities for the position include but are not limited to: managing aircraft engine time, prop data, airframe time, and electronic equipment databases; coordination of equipment pool, aircraft discrepancy trend analysis, aircraft inspections; audits maintenance invoicing; and assists with overall operations of the Aviation Maintenance program.

Successful candidates must have Aviation A&P license and/or FAA pilot certificate (Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFII, or MEI) and prior aviation maintenance experience preferred. High school diploma or GED, with a minimum of 2 years of related experience is required. Administrative or record keeping experience with proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is preferred.

Experience: Two years of related experience is required. Administrative or record keeping experience is preferred.

Licensure & Certifications: Aviation A&P license FAA pilot certificate (Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFII, or MEI)

  • 5% - Coordinates aircraft rototable pool equipment status - ()
  • 10% - Coordinates aircraft discrepancy "squawks' trend analysis - ()
  • 5% - Coordinates scheduled aircraft inspections with other aviation staff - ()
  • 10% - Verify and validate accuracy of maintenance related invoices - ()
  • 40% - Assist the Aircraft Maintenance Manager with overall operations of the Aviation Maintenance program including scheduled and unscheduledmaintenance activities, maintenance safety , and records management - ()
  • 5% - Supports the office functions by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. - ()
  • 5% - Coordinates aircraft washes - (Essential)
