Job Summary/Basic Functions

Natural Areas student employees function to support land stewardship activities including vegetation management, research, community outreach, or other responsibilities associated with our mission. Interns work at Taylor Fork Ecological Area, Cardinal Outdoor Area, Maywoods, and occasionally at Lilley Cornett Woods. Student employees may be involved in assisting Division of Natural Areas staff with any of the following activities:


1. Invasive plant and vegetation management
2. Trail maintenance and repair
3. Wildlife habitat management
4. Assist with environmental education or natural history research projects.
5. Work with community outreach program
This is an outdoor position working in rugged terrain and dense vegetation sometimes in inclement weather conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensure & Certifications: Must be enrolled at EKU.
