Schedule Type:  Part Time, No Benefits (less than 20 hrs per week)

Pay Scale: $10.00/ hour minimum

Hours Per Week: 20 - 29, depending on term and enrollment

Job Summary/Basic Functions

Orientation Leaders (OLs) are responsible for welcoming new students and their families to Eastern Kentucky University during Summer Orientation and Big E Welcome. OLs are responsible for assisting with programming, helping new students schedule classes, and leading small group activities. OLs must be responsible, reliable, flexible, and excited to create a positive experience for incoming students. OLs are responsible for the following:
• Attend training (Training will occur in March, April, and May), Orientation, and Big E Welcome.
• Lead small group activities and discussions with incoming freshmen.
• Assist the Academic Colleges with class registration.
• Supporting students throughout the summer by answering any questions students may have before the start of classes and acting as a role model and mentor.
• Assist with Big E Welcome activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled at EKU.
 

Job Duties:

  • 70% - Lead small groups in group discussions, campus activities, and class registration. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Attend training and meetings. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Assist in Big E Welcome. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Continue to communicate with incoming students throughout the summer to ensure all their questions and concerns are addressed. - (Essential)
