Job Summary/Basic Functions

An EKU Senior Nurse Practitioner provides direct primary health care for adults with both acute and chronic conditions, within the scope of established medical practice protocols and in collaboration with the SHS director.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: - Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Kentucky.

- Equivalent to a college degree plus substantial graduate level courses equivalent to a Master's Degree.

Experience: - At least two years of community-based public health experience required.

- Must be familiar with management principles and practices.

- Effective decision maker. Open to different opinions and good at analyzing contradictory information.Tact, diplomacy, flexibility, and communication skills are essential.

Licensure & Certifications: - Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Kentucky.

Preferred Qualifications:

GYN and sexual health experience preferred.

Job Duties:

• 80% - Provides direct primary care to adults with acute and chronic conditions; - (Essential)
• 10% - Oversees Quality Management of primary care services; - (Essential)
• 10% - Establish and implement policies, objectives, and procedures for SHS in conjunction with SHS Manager; - (Essential)
