Job Summary/Basic Functions

$15 per hour. Applications will be continuously accepted until all positions have been filled. The student employee will work with elementary-aged children grades K-5 under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher. The tutor will work one on one or with small groups of children. Tutor MUST be able to work in at least one-hour blocks between 8 am to 3 pm, Monday - Friday. (Note: This position is not for clerical duties. Also, if hired the applicant must provide their own transportation to and from the work site). APPLICANT MUST BE ELIGIBLE FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY. If you believe you should have received Federal Work Study and did not, please contact Big E Central so your eligibility can be re-evaluated.

Job Duties:

•  The student employee will work under the direction of the designated lead professionals from the host agency on literacy (reading, writing and math) skills. - (Essential)
• The student employee will work under the direction of the designated lead professionals on projects designed to enhance the school's learning environment. - (Essential)
• The student employee will execute the individual tutoring plan that has been designed by the lead/supervising professional for students in grades K-sixth. - (Essential)
• Read to elementary school children & tutor elementary school children in reading. - (Essential)
