Job Summary/Basic Functions

1. Serve as a peer mentor
2. Recruit students for the AFA minor by attending spotlight events
3. Help plan a monthly student and faculty discussion series at the Center and identify panelists
4. Organize and promote AFA/CAE-related events and activities on campus and social media
5. Identify and post educational articles on the black experience on AFA/CAE social media platforms
6. Design and circulate fliers for AFA/CAE-related events and activities
7. Facilitate the AFA monthly spotlight series for faculty, staff, and students
8. Identify opportunities for collaboration with other departments on campus
9. Facilitate “Africana Night Flix” monthly film series
10. Help plan events organized by the AFA Club, the African Student Organization, and the Black Student Union
11. Organize biannual career workshops led by AFA alums.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: Must be enrolled at EKU
