Job Summary/Basic Functions

An EKU Water Treatment Technician works directly with the Heat Plant Supervisor and the HVAC Supervisor to perform water quality tests and adjustments on closed steam loops, chill water loops, condensing loops and cooling towers.

Job Duties:

• 35% - Routinely collects boiler chemical feed and steam plant samples and conducts an analysis on each sample collected - (Essential)
• 25% - Operates and repairs the equipment used to treat water in boilers, chillers, distillers, stills, water softeners, and water condensing systems - (Essential)
• 20% - Keeps records on all chemical feed rates, inventory, safety data sheets and usage reports - (Essential)
• 15% - Determines which chemicals are needed to maintain system and water efficiency - (Essential)
• 5% - Other duties as assigned - (Essential)
