Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Department of Applied Human Sciences Science at Eastern Kentucky University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor to begin Fall 2025. Applicants should hold a terminal degree in human development, education, or a related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment. The position begins August 2025.

The position serves programs in Applied Human Sciences. It requires at least two years of experience in higher education. Early childhood licensure is preferred. Interest and experience in supervising practicum placements and preservice teachers and online teaching is preferred. The successful candidate will teach courses in child development, early childhood education, and family studies. Courses could include, but are not limited to Lifespan Development, Early Childhood Curriculum & Assessment, and Family Involvement. Additional responsibilities include student advising, scholarship, and service.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: An earned terminal degree in human development, education, or related field from an accredited institution at the time of appointment.

Experience: Two years experience in higher education.
