Job Summary/Basic Functions

A Model Laboratory School bus driver is responsible for the safe transportation of students and other passengers as well safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the assigned bus/vehicle in accordance with EKU regulations, Model policies and procedures, and Kentucky statutes and regulations for K-12 schools. Drivers are called as-needed for a variety of transportation needs such as field trips and competitions.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Experience:

Licensure & Certifications: Commercial driver's license with passenger and school bus endorsement is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience as a school bus driver.

Availability for daytime and evening trips.

Job Duties:

  • 80% - Ensure safe transportation of all students and passengers entrusted to the vehicle operator. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Provide general supervision of students on and around the vehicle. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Maintain required CDL training requirements and trip documentation. - (Essential)
