Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Equipment Quality Control Specialist is responsible for supporting the Director of Equipment and the athletic department in managing and maintaining the quality and functionality of athletic equipment and apparel. This role is integral to ensuring the safety and performance of athletes by providing well-maintained equipment and facilitating the logistics of equipment distribution and control.

Equipment Management:
- Assist the Director of Equipment in all aspects of managing the athletics equipment room.
- Collaborate with the Head of Football Equipment Manager in fitting, distributing, and maintaining all athletic equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Oversee the quality and condition of equipment, implementing routine checks and maintenance procedures.
Seasonal Support and Responsibilities:
- During football season, this position will focus on serving the football program as their top priority, addressing equipment needs from preseason to the end of the season. Provide comprehensive support to the football team, including on-site assistance during practices and games.
- Outside of football season, provide support to all sports programs to assist with their equipment needs and requirements.

- Practice and Game Support:
- Provide support for daily practice needs across various sports, ensuring athletes have access to necessary equipment.
- Travel with the team to all away football games, handling logistics and equipment needs on-site.
- Manage the setup and operation of CoachComm systems for both home and away contests, ensuring seamless communication during events.
- Inventory and Distribution:
- Assist in the ordering, inventory management, and distribution of all Nike apparel and gear, maintaining accurate records and stock levels.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of equipment and apparel.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate documentation of equipment use, damage, and repair, providing reports to the Assistant Director of Football Equipment or the Director of Equipment as needed.
- Document any deviations from established procedures, especially regarding equipment handling and usage.

- Additional Duties:
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Director of Equipment, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the athletic department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Relevant experience preferred 

Job Duties:

  • 60% - Assist the Director of Equipment in all aspects of managing the athletics equipment room. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Collaborate with the Head of Football Equipment Manager in fitting, distributing, and maintaining all athletic equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards. - (Essential)
