Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Head Swim Coach is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and administration of the University Club’s swim program. This position provides strategic direction, on-deck coaching, and operational oversight to ensure a high-quality, competitive, and member-focused aquatics experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of proven experience in competitive swim coaching, preferably with age group or club-level swimmers.
  • Current lifeguard certification; Lifeguard Instructor or Pool Operator certification preferred
  • CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications (or willingness to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong knowledge of aquatic safety standards and risk management.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Job Duties:

  • 50% - Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive swim training programs for all skill levels; provide on-deck instruction, evaluate athlete performance, and foster a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, and competitive excellence. - (Essential)
  • 50% - Manage team scheduling, meet coordination, parent/member communication, and budget oversight; ensure compliance with all safety regulations, governing body standards, and Club policies while maintaining a safe and positive aquatics environment. - (Essential)
