Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Assistant Counsel, which reports to the University’s Deputy Counsel, handles the production of records under the Kentucky Open Records Act as well as in response to subpoenas and other legal orders. The Assistant Counsel also provides representation of and legal counsel to the University in practice areas such as, for example, contract, employment, and higher education law.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Must be a current member in good standing of the Bar in any state at the time of application. Membership with the Kentucky bar Association must be acquired prior to undertaking the work of this position and, thereafter, must be maintained throughout employment in the position.
Experience: Minimum of 1 years of related legal experience, preferably in the legal areas of contracts, employment and/or higher education law.
