Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Assistant Director is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Training Records Information System (TRIS).

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree in a related field is required.

Experience: Minimum of three years of related experience with at least one year of supervisory experience is required.

Proficiency in SQL utilizing transactions

Job Duties:

  • 60% - The Assistant Director provides the TRIS Unit with oversight and direction in completing project assignments; including the quality, integrity and accuracy of all data entered into the TRIS system. Provide management of the Data Integrity Administrator, Data Integrity Analyst, and Data Integrity Specialist positions including establishing annual goals, conducting regular performance reviews and appropriate recognition, and supporting ongoing professional development opportunities. Demonstrate expert knowledge and use of TRIS systems, and assist with pulling complex lists, reports and queries, technical support and data entry as needed. Establish user protocols and standards on how to enter information to guarantee consistency and accuracy across users. Create workflows for import and input of newly acquired data. Establish and maintain procedures related to all aspects of the current and future database and integrated applications. Ensure that all procedures are disseminated to TRIS staff and followed effectively. Develop and execute training plan for TRIS staff, as necessary. Plan, implement, and supervise the collection, entry, updating, output, and usage of all demographic, training, and other information into TRIS. Lead database clean-up efforts and work with TRIS staff to maintain accurate constituent records. Establish and execute an annual data clean-up schedule. Design and produce regular and ad-hoc auditing reports as needed to support data integrity review and management. Collaborate with staff to clean up inconsistencies and errors, as well as data maintenance solutions. Track and administer accounts, system roles, security settings and permissions. Ensure regular education and adherence to data privacy, compliance laws and best practices by TRIS staff. - ()
  • 35% - Serve as the subject matter expert on all TRIS systems for the Training Resource Center to support strategic initiatives and define requirements. The Assistant Director provides database development and works with inter/intra-agency collaboration teams who provide application development input in the development process. Provides consultation and expertise for software infrastructure through the development of tables, screens and processes to facilitate functionality and flexibility of the database. Establish a comprehensive data integrity plan by identifying areas within the TRIS infrastructure where data cleaning and normalization are needed, and create a strategic plan for data integrity execution. Coordinate with TRC IT for needed support, and to ensure proper maintenance, software updates, and back-ups are occurring. Provide technical support to users as appropriate, and elevate issues to IT as needed. - ()

The funding for this position is from federal and/or state funds and is subject to annual renewal. This is a contract EKU position.
