Job Summary/Basic Functions

The RMI Student Worker supports the overall mission of the Risk Management & Insurance program by providing student‑focused assistance, helping maintain an organized and welcoming office environment, and contributing to program operations. This role assists with student engagement, event support, and outreach efforts that strengthen awareness of RMI opportunities. The student worker also participates in ongoing projects and professional development activities that enhance both the program and their own learning.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Enrolled at EKU as an RMI major or minor.

Licensure & Certifications: Must be enrolled at EKU

Preferred Qualifications:

RMI major or minor.
Member of Gamma Iota Sigma.

Job Duties:

  • 30% - Assist with program and administrative tasks that contribute to an organized, welcoming, and student‑centered RMI office environment. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Provide peer career‑readiness support for RMI students through résumé reviews, cover letter feedback, and mock interview practice using inclusive, strengths‑based guidance. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Support the planning, preparation, and implementation of RMI events and activities by assisting with logistics, materials, and student engagement. - (Essential)
  • 15% - Welcome and assist visitors at the front desk while maintaining an accessible, inclusive, and organized office space. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Complete a project assigned at the start of each term, participating in regular check‑ins with the Program Coordinator to support progress and learning. - (Essential)
  • 10% - Promote the RMI program and Gamma Iota Sigma Psi Chapter through outreach efforts, including classroom visits, student engagement activities, and brand‑building initiatives. - (Essential)
